How we recruit

Supply chain has become a boardroom subject, and the people who can plan demand, run a warehouse at peak or negotiate with a global supplier are in short supply. We recruit buyers and category managers, planners, logistics and transport managers, warehouse leaders and supply chain directors across manufacturing, retail, pharma and third party logistics.

Roles we recruit

  • Buyer and Category Manager
  • Demand and Supply Planner
  • Logistics and Transport Manager
  • Warehouse and Distribution Manager
  • Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist
  • Inventory Analyst
  • Supply Chain Manager and Director

Where hiring gets stuck

Hiring in supply chain is hard. Here is where it sticks.

  1. 01

    Driver shortages

SOLAS listed HGV drivers as a shortage occupation in its National Skills Bulletin 2025, which puts pressure on every transport plan. We recruit the transport managers and planners who get the most from the fleet and the drivers you already have.

  2. 02

    Planners who know your systems

A demand or supply planner who has to learn your ERP system from the beginning takes a long time to become useful. We screen for the systems and planning methods you use and ask candidates to talk through a real forecast or plan they owned.

  3. 03

    Customs knowledge is thin

Trade with Great Britain now carries customs and compliance work that many businesses never needed before, and experienced specialists are few. We look for people who have handled declarations and audits in practice, and we say so when training a strong generalist is the realistic route.

  4. 04

    Peak season cover

Warehouses and distribution centres need experienced leads for a short, intense period, and by the time peak is in sight the best interims are booked. We start conversations before the season, agree dates and handover, and keep a permanent option open where it suits.

Questions

Supply Chain hiring, answered.

Practical answers to the questions employers and candidates ask most.

Is there a shortage of supply chain and logistics staff in Ireland?

In parts of the market, yes. SOLAS lists HGV and bus and coach drivers as shortage occupations in its National Skills Bulletin 2025. Demand is growing as well: the Employment and Recruitment Federation's Irish Labour Market Monitor for Q2 2026 reported that construction, industry and transport together added 56,500 jobs in the year to Q1 2026. For professional roles such as planning, trade compliance and transport management, a direct search and a clear salary range usually achieve more than a second advert.

How do we hire a customs or trade compliance specialist?

Decide first whether you need someone to prepare declarations, manage a broker or own compliance for the whole business, because those are different people. Ask candidates which procedures and authorisations they have worked with, what volumes they handled and how they dealt with a customs audit or query. Where the pool is thin, a strong logistics coordinator with customs exposure and a training plan can be the quicker route. We test practical knowledge at screening and tell you what the market can supply at your salary.

When should we start recruiting for peak season?

Earlier than feels necessary. IrishJobs put the median time to hire at 10 weeks in a survey carried out in September 2025, and a manager's notice period comes after that. Count back from the date you need the person trained and on the floor, then add both. For interim cover the lead time is shorter, but the best people are booked first. We aim to agree dates, rates and handover with you well before the season starts.

How do I move from warehouse supervisor into supply chain planning or management?

Use the access you already have. Volunteer for stock counts, slotting, inbound scheduling and any project involving the warehouse management or ERP system, and learn how the numbers you produce feed the plan. Get comfortable with spreadsheets and basic forecasting. On your CV, describe results such as pick accuracy, stock accuracy or on time dispatch in figures you can explain at interview. We tell you which kinds of employer hire planners from operations, and we never charge candidates a fee.
